David Kunes

Owner and Head Trainer

David Kunes, CSCS®, is the owner and head trainer at Gulfshore Fitness. He brings a diverse background and a lifelong passion for fitness to his training practice. Offering both technical and practical expertise, Dave is committed to helping his clients achieve their health and wellness goals. His specialties include motivation, nutrition, strength, conditioning, and mobility.

Dave became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) in 2015 following a decade in the corporate world. A graduate of Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia, Dave served 4 years in the U.S Marine Corps with 7th Marine Regiment. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh.

April Lauber

Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist

April is driven by a strong passion for aiding individuals in achieving their fitness aspirations through a practical and enduring approach. With a background as a competitive Olympic Weightlifter and a lifelong performer in the arts of dance, she places significant importance on well-structured programming, wholesome movement, and cultivating a positive mentality to foster lifelong fitness success across various life stages and objectives.

Nik George

Certified Personal Trainer

Nik dedicated over 5 years to being a part of the premier luxury large-scale fitness centers in the Chicagoland area. Transitioning from the fitness sector, he ventured into the telecommunications industry. In doing so, he gained firsthand insight into the obstacles faced by typical 9-to-5 office workers, hindering their pursuit of fitness aspirations.

Taking advantage of the pandemic period, Nik invested time in renewing his personal training certification through the International Sports Sciences Association. Expanding his skill set, he pursued specialized certification as a Nutrition Coach. This new avenue empowered him to guide his clients in making feasible adjustments to their lifestyles, breaking free from the cycle of unattainable diet trends.

Leveraging his background in coaching and training young athletes, Nik skillfully developed age-appropriate strength and conditioning regimens. Presently, he is enrolled in a Senior Specialist certification program, focused on enhancing his expertise in mobility and functional movements tailored for older adults.
